Character Description Verner Fromm was likely in his late twenties when the Lich King dominated his will, but years of undeath have eroded any indications of youth. In some places his wan skin is stretched tightly over shriveled organs and bleached bone--in others, it hangs loose and ragged. His glowing yellow eyes glare out beneath lank hair and knitted brows, though the expression could just as easily be caused by the condition of his head as by his reigning emotion. The entire lower half of his face is completely skeletonized--what's left of it, that is. A series of jagged grooves runs diagonally down the left side of his maxilla, indicating perhaps that he lost his lower jaw to some sort of fanged animal. He has replaced the missing mandible with one made of silver alloy, and a complex bundle of wires and springs at each side of his jaw allows him to move it as though it were his own. (This does, however, cause a peculiar metallic creaking sound whenever he speaks.) Despite his ragged appearance, Verner is remarkably clean for one of his kind. His hair, though discolored, is brushed and free of lichen or mildew, and his clothing is always well-kept (save for the ragged holes where sharp bone protrudes). A sharp, acrid smell hangs about him, and around his withered left bicep he wears an armband embroidered with a flask and crown. Along with the customary black robes, these traits identify him as a member of the Royal Apothecary Society.
