Yes, the only known living Windrunner sister was there for the Alliance players. However, Vol'jin himself with his elite troll guards are there for Horde.  The writers needed a way for the Alliance to be involved with what was truely a troll issue at heart.  Thusly, they had the trolls attempt to alert Stormwind to the problem. (Though if you sit in the harbor and watch, the human captain-guy is telling the trolls he's not gonna listen.)  Vol'jin is a diplomat at heart, despite his open threat to slay Garrosh Hellscream once everyone sees him for what he really is, a bloodthirsty maniac with his head up his hindquarters. He wanted everyone to be aware that a resurgence in the Amani empire would have greater repercussions than just to the Darkspear Tribe.  Seeing as how Stormwind and Ironforge are far closer to Zul'Gurub than Silvermoon City and the Undercity are, it makes sense. Vol'jin had a problem. He needed help. He could...    less

The tides of war shift solely on the whims of the writers. This should just be a fun, goofy brainstorming session, and I feel if's in danger of turning into a standard internet debate. You know the one where it's something like "WHO WOULD WIN: GOKU VS. SUPERMAN" and someone with the username SSJgokudenXXX posts his own reasoned unbiased analysis and hey what do you know he thinks goku wins, then there's fifty pages of people yelling at each other.  less

Do you really think that they'll let the Orcs try to wipe out the Draenei again? Alextrasa swore a life-debt to humans, dwarves and night elves. Do you think that she'll just stand Idly by while the Horde wipes them out? Horde's attacking the Kirin Tor right now. You must not have seen that. Speaking of which I was aware that Vol'jin went to both factions, but the fact that he ran to the alliance in his time of need speaks volumes. Additionally, when the Blood elves dealt with the resurgence of the Amani trolls, who did the Ranger general call? Not the Horde, but the still strongly alliance-aligned Vereesa Windrunner. Why does the Horde keep running to the alliance with it's problems, like a baby with a boo-boo?  less

If the Horde was under legitimate threat, I wager, he'd return to take command. And keep in mind that most of the political divsions within the Horde would evaporate should Thrall come back. Thrall would be a complete game changer. Not only would he serve to unify the confederation, he happens to be possibly the most accomplished military commander currently alive. Also I'm failing to see how the Alliance could curry favor with the neutrals. The Argent Crusade would be unlikely to take sides as their membership is heavily divided along racial lines. At best Tirion would halve his forces before being folded into the Alliance chain of command, and the rest of his army would likely return to the Horde. The various cartels would cater to whomever would pay the most, of course, though Thrall (and by extension Garrosh) has long-standing business deals with the Steamwheedles. The Frostborn would most likely...    less

The first exapnsion featured Illidan as the primary villian, who barely appeared outside of his own instance. He just stands around to get farmed for loot, with no outside influence on the world. Arthas, was made in reaction to this, taking an active role in Norhtend, showing up all over thep lace, ans interacting with the player. Naturally, everyone complained that he showed up too much, and seemed too ineffective. ( the phrase Saturday Morning Cartoon Villain was thrown about) Deathwing was an attempt to split the difference, having a villain who shows up only occasionally, (and who kills you when you see him!), and consistantly does massive damage to the country side. The real problem is that people never see him because everyone hangs out in Org/SW.  less

Character Information

  • Character's First Name Abhorrence
  • Title Ambassador
  • Race Dwarf
  • Class Death Knight
  • Gender Male
  • Character Description Ambassador Abhorrence is a crazed, maniacal, and murderous Dwarven Death Knight. He runs around with his squire in tow, gleefully setting up banners of Ironforge where ever he goes, and dragging his hapless squire with him. He's proud to be a dwarf and prouder still of Ironforge and tends to let everyone know, loudly. He is still a death knight, however, and a rather ruthless one at that. Abhorrence simply has no moral hangups about murder, even killing his own allies if he can use it to get ahead. In fact he's willing to do just about anything if he can internally justify it as "for Ironforge".
