The heavy doors to the Dawnhammer manor in Shattrath open suddenly as the servants run to allow Aidyn passage. He enters the grand hall and D'annica appears on the balcony at the far side.
He walks through the home, a servant coming to see if he needed to be relieved of the burden of armor gets shoved over a sofa with a single thrust of his arm. He shoves the glass doors hard, swinging them open with force enough to cause the heavy enchanted glass to crack. His mother turns and faces him.
"Darling, you have finally com--ack!!"
He grabs her by the throat and jerks her slender form in close to him. His eyes burn into hers. "This is your doing." He spits into her face. "You had to insert yourself into my affairs, play puppet master with my life." He sneers at her.
She tries to speak but he grips her neck harder. He bares his teeth as his eyes begin to burn with holy vengeance. "You have lost everything. Father would be disgusted with you."
Her hands press against his chest as her eyes grow larger and blood shot. Her head feels numb as she struggles and squeaks for breath. Her hands go to his wrist, trying to pry herself free.
"How does it feel, Mother? How does it feel to watch everything fade... To watch everything fall apart? It feels like suffocation. It feels like this!" He screams at her as he lifts her off the floor, her feet kicking in futility. He feels her life slipping away and at the last moment, as her vision is closed to a narrow black hole, he drops her, her lithe petit form falling into the chaise and blasts her with a shock of holy power, recessutating her. She gasps for air and holds her slim fingers over her aching neck. She feels the tears running down her face as she reaches out towards her son.
"Aidy--" He cuts her off.
"DONT!" He yells. "Dont you dare say my name!" He turns to walk away and looks over his shoulder. "Your son is dead."
Those were the last words he ever intended to say to his mother.
D'annica wept into her arm as the heavy doors slammed shut.

The portal snapped shut with a loud crack as he stepped out onto charred grounds of the Twilight Highlands. There was still a lot of activity here that had to be dealt with. The young orc warrior showed him to his bunk where he placed his meager belongings.
He climbed up into the bunk and layed back, opening his journal. The front page a very accurate drawing of Liliania. His eyes grew red and sore just looking at it. He kissed it softly before turning to a blank page...
I have lost her. I have given up everything. From the moment I met her I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. An impossible dream at the time, even more so now when she denied me. I know it all stems back to my mothers treachery.
I wonder if she knows that I really do love her, or if she is just pretending to know. I didnt ask her to marry me lightly. I thought about it for a long time. There wasnt any useless bickering and fighting, but... Should there have been? Should I have let myself fly off the handle over trite and pointless arguments just to show that I am invested in the relationship? I didnt think I had to do such things.
Its hard to think about right now. My heart aches. Its like someone shatterd a glass vase inside my chest. Everything hurts. I did the only thing I could. I left it all behind. Yes, its running away, but so be it. Where else am I supposed to go? Ive lost my home. At least here if youre willing to fight, they will feed you and give you a place to sleep.
I told them my name is Jin. No sense in dragging up any questions about my last deployment. So, here I sit. Jin. Thats all I have. No surname to ground me. I am no longer a Dawnhammer, perhaps still legally I am, but I believe D'annica got the picture... But I dont deserve Lightstone either.
I dont know. Perhaps in these highlands there is a fighter worthy to end me.
I will thank him.
