Blood and Thunder!

  • It has been just a couple days since Buyaga has returned from his tour of duty in the frozen wasteland of Northrend. He now stood, resting, with a group of fellow soldiers of the Horde, in the area outside Nordrassil in Mt. Hyjal. The group consisted of a couple other orcs, a tauren and a Forsaken. They had been a team since they came from Orgrimmar, relying on eath other for mutual survival in this warzone.

The plan was simple. There was a group of Twilight cultists perfroming some sort of rite over the ridge, and this group had to deal with it. They knew not what the cultists were doing, but it could not be good.

"Buyaga" the male tauren says in a whisper. "There are about ten cultists that we can see. Are you sure about this?"

"Fear not, brother in oath and steel. We have the element of suprise and they are concentrating on their ritual." Buyaga says in a hushed tone. He looks to one of the orcs and the Forsaken and states, "You two will provide cover with your arrows and magics while the rest of us disrupt the ritual."

Buyaga looks to one of the orcs, Gorruk of the Frostwolf, a young and somewhat inexperienced shaman. Buyaga had watched out for this one, seeing the inexperience in his eyes. "Gorruk, have faith and courage. Through strength and the aid of the spirits we will prevail."

After this interaction, Buyaga explains the specifics of the plan. Soon, the plan is set in motion.  Buyaga, Gorruk, and the tauren sharge in, Gorruk healing as much as he can as Buyaga cleave through the cultists, aided by the cover fire from the two ranged attackers.

The battle goes well, at first at least. The cultists were caught off guard, but only for a moment. They summon their twisted elemental servants as combatants, and Buyaga is forced to ignore the pains of the wounds he is recieving and becomes a dervice of spinning axes as he becomes a hurricane of destruction through the camp.

They cleared the camp, besides one man, who sat at the back of the camp, hood and robes covering his entire body. They had only lost the one tauren in the combat.

Gorruk approached the sitting man, and before Buyaga could catch his breath to tell him to stop, he got within touching distance of the man. From within the cloak, burning eyes could now be seen. The sitting man waves his hand, laughing as Gorruk screams in agaony, as a fountain of flame erupts form under him. Gorruk rolls on the ground screaming in pain, trying to put himself out as Buyage charges in.

"Blood and thunder!" Buyaga screams as he charges in. The man, who has now revealed himself to be a flame-tainted elf, quickly turns into a flame cat as a wall of fire erupts behind Buyaga, preventing the ranged attackers from aiding. The combat is long and difficult, Buyaga taking many hits, but his sheer size keeps him going, the cat, much harder to hit goes unscathed.

Buyage lays next to Gorruk, trying to keep the flame cat from getting to his vital orgens, but the Druid of the Flame pinned Buyaga to the ground. Buyaga tried getting out, but he was weak from the previous battle and the druid was much stronger than he looked. Buyaga tried headbutting or biting, but the druid was too fast.

All of a sudden, the druid is picked up. Buyaga watching this happen, but being powerless to do anything. In a last ditch effort, Gorruk had grappled the druid, searing his flesh further, and the shaman sprinted and leapt into a nearby pond, screaming "LOK'TAR OGAR!" As he hit the water, the shaman called upon the elements to bring down a strike of lightning on them both, the water amplifying the blast. They both die instantly.

After the two from the back are able to get through the barrier of fire, they help Buyaga up and he tells them what happened. They give them the best burial they can in such a tainted place.

"This orc knew what it meant to serve the Horde. He gave his life to save us all. I will never forget you, brother. May your ancestors welcome you with pride."

One more day done, and the Horde has lost another hero. How many more need to die for this world to be safe? Buyaga did not know the answer, but he is willing to do what he had to in order to protect this foreign world. Today truley was a day of blood and thunder.
