Tremors

  • Frost and snow had trapped itself in Kanta’s hair, his beard, even upon his shoulder peices and armor.  He growled underneath his breath as his beast traveled onward, taking cautious steps to not fall into a crevice hidden by snowfall. The Marksman’s eyes stayed wide and open during his time traveling... He had traveled these lands years ago, but the land had changed since then, the wars between the Dragon flights had left more bones and rotting carcasses of the once majestic beings of both the blue and red dragon flights, now left to frozen meat for the scavengers of the wasteland.

His cold ears twitched as the wind nipped at his head again, a shiver coming across his body as he pulled his hood over his head, the heavy fur cloak offering protection to the harsh enviorment.

“Sin’Mush’a.” Kanta pulled on the reigns, calming the massive Nightsaber below him, making the beast stop. “Rest for now, we will make camp here for the time being.”

The warbeast nodded, lowering himself to the clearing below him, and allowing his companion to hop off from the animal’s back. Kanta ran his hand along the creature’s head and pulled his bag off Sin’Mush’a’s back. He pulled out a bowl with some milk in it, as well as rations. He broke off the majority of the dried meat and let Blood Hunter eat.

The War Saber had received it’s name once Kanta had come out from an early retirement back to the Sentinels. As a welcome home gift, Blood Hunter, or “Sin’Mush’a” in Kaldorei tongue had been given to Kanta...  The Marksman now held the war beast with high respect, and used him when air travel was difficult.

Kanta gave a smirk to the beast once again  and sat down beside him, leaning his back against the saber as he pulled a map out from his quiver. His silver eyes glancing down to it as he unraveled it, marking the area he had covered so far.

The beast suddenly stood! Causing the Marksman to nearly fall over into the dry, cold snow. A glare came to Kanta’s eyes as he stood as quickly as the harsh enviorment may allow him too, pulling off Arrowsong from his back. He readied a obsidian tipped arrow into the string and readied it... The beast however, was not looking to anything in the distant, it happened to be looking down.

Straight down, below the snow they sat on.

The ground rumbled, as though something was shifting below them.

The Marksman’s eyes widened as he tried to keep his balance.

“Sin!” Kanta called out shortly to the war beast, pulling himself upon his back once more.

“Move! Now! Ash Karath!” He yelled out, the beast beginning to dash off spot, the snow shifting as the Marksman and his riding beast moved! The ice and ground below him cracked and grinded against each other, sending shards of ice and causing nearly a whiteout in the area with how the snow was caught in the winds.

And... as soon as it had started, it stopped.

Kanta halted the beast, despite it’s protests, and stared at the massive mound of ice and snow that had cracked and caused the disturbance.

His hands shook as he reached to his map and circled the area... And quickly went off, back into the snow mounds to explore the areas around the Temple. Was the hammer attempting something beneath the ground? Were they planning something?

Kanta continued in the wastelands for several more hours, stopping frequently to allow the tired beast to rest, as well as for him to mark his maps... Few other areas resembled the shift and disturbance of the land as the one in the east had.

“We return now... The Justicar shall wish to hear of this.”

Kanta’s eyes shifted once again, noticing a beast in the distance... A scent nipped at his nose, even through the dry, cold air. A smirk came to his lips, and then clicked his tongue. Sin’Mush’a making due haste back to Wintergarde.

“Anarial, Anarial...” Kanta spoke underneath his breath, shaking his head. “It would make it easier if you traveled /with/ me.”
