Vladmir bowed deeply as he delivered the package that was wrapped in plain brown paper and tied with a piece of hemp string. Remia accepted the package graciously her fingertips brushing the rough surface eager to rip the paper off. She placed a pouch gold pieces in Vladmir's delicately formed hands which reminded her of butter soft calf leather.
"Thank you kindly, Vladimir for picking this up for me. I realize it was a long trip to Moonglade so please feel free to rest as long as you wish before returning to Stormwind. Cook has some fresh baked lemon scones in the kitchen, feel free to help yourself.", Remia said to the man as her fingers tore at the paper with some measure of eagerness.
The golden haired man looked eager to devour the promised scones but was too well bred to say so. In any case he went on his way soon enough and leaving Remia alone to puruse the contents of the package. Remia sighed in contentment as she examined the carved wood statuette. The wood was a lovely pecan shade and was polished and smooth as obsidean save for the incised lines carved into the wood. The likeness she beheld was that of Cal's favorite boar rendered with such realisim that individual quills on the mane of the figurine were clearly visible. The tauren druid in Moonglade that fashioned the statue was an immensely gifted artist and Remia appreciated his willingness to use Cal's boar as a model. Cal was currently outside with his boars. He had just finished feeding them a complex mixture of grains, nuts, truffles, and fruit and they were lolling around in the mid morning sun emitting grunts of deep contentment. Cal sat on one of the carved benches watching them with almost paternal pride the sleeves of his crimson robes rolled up to his elbows. It seemed to be a form of mediatation for him.
Remia smiled at the sight then smirked at the thought that while Cal loved bacon with an abiding passion he had not killed any of the boars to sate his appetite. Remia regularly went to a butcher in Elwynn to purchase the bacon for Cal's table as well as chops and ham. Remia took out some red paper and quickly wrapped the statue, anxious that Cal would come inside soon. She fried up some bacon and made some scrambled eggs to go with Cook's scones for his breakfast. She set the table with their best china and placed the red wrapped box on the table at his place, the same chair where he sat as a child. (cont'd)
