Bad News

  • The day started out so peaceful for Cait. She had finally gotten the supply issue resolved and had headed to the main office in Stormwind. Nem had his hands full with wedding plans, so she had volunteered to play desk-monkey to all the reports and mail that flooded the office daily.

Ephasia was there already, peaceful as could be, also doing fun paperwork of her own. After they started to chit chat, Salixa walked in as well. And then the world fell apart. A letter from the Darnassian Government graced the desk. It was a report - a body had been found in the Temple of the Moon inside Darnassus, one wearing a Legion tabard. Inside the envelope were his tags identifying who it was. They were requesting we come identify and claim the body for proper burial. It was Field Sergeant Kekeka Ironmoon.

None of the three around the desk could believe their eyes. Nemamiah walked in at that point as well, probably to help with the reports. He was less than pleased to hear about it too. He and Salixa left immediately to Darnassus to do as the letter requested as Cait stayed behind with Ephasia. This was a good thing, as Ephasia collapsed from the influx of such strong emotions. Once Cait was sure Ephasia was okay, they spoke of dreams and lingering feelings leading up to the discovery for the two. Ephasia left to go rest, leaving Cait to wait.

When Nem returned with the news, Merlynna had also arrived to visit and was still in shock at the possible bad news. And bad they were. Nem had confirmed it - it was Kek. He was dead - permanently, this time. Died of a broken heart, basically. Cait knew he was under a lot of stress but had no idea just how severe it was. She set to work on the reports and notifications to all departments, especially the Baron himself. Nem had already excused himself to deal with the loss and to see to Salixa. This was a harsh blow for them both.

Once she was done there, Cait went to the Medical Core office. There, on it's table, sat the Phantom Legion's Book of the Fallen. With a heavy heart, she took ink to paper, adding yet another name to the book. She bows her head over the book once done, saying a silent pray for her fallen friend.
