Hey everyone!
The new "Dear Kanta Claws" Special is now uploaded to ERlore.com
Let's here what you guys think of the comments Arialynn and I make as we go all over 85 (technically 84) wishes for Winter's Veil.
So, here it is!
Thank you for the invite to do the Kanta Claws episode, it was a blast. Well-done on Episode 9, it's great to see the community involvement in this podcast's development. It continues to grow with new ideas and contributions. Looking forward to seeing new audio dramas in future Lore podcasts.
I'm listening right now to the part about the "who is this Deathwing guy" storytelling fail, and a thought comes to me.
People cared about Arthas/LK and knew about him not only because of all his cameos in Northrend, but also because the world had visible landmarks resulting from him. The Dead Scar, the Silvermoon Ruins, the Dalaran bubble, those were all there before Wrath launched. So then we came into Wrath and he became even more active, between cameos and more things such as Ice Crown Citadel woven into the world.
In Cataclysm, Deathwing just occasionally burns the ground (or did, before Dragon Soul, and it's annoying one can achieve Stood in the Fire by dying in LFR, jeeze) and then the fire dies away and the NPC's respawn. Sure, there's terrain that's different now from when he shook the world. Yet somehow it doesn't feel personal even after a ton of RP about lost loved ones and shattered homes. One doesn't look up at Deathwing flying around and go GRRRR LEMME AT HIM NOW!
He needed more foundation, needed to be more intrinsic to the game experience, in order to immerse players in the story of his rise and threat.
