This is the thread for the current and future court sesions in Magistrate Remia Blyde(Until further approval from other magistrates) And Marshal Corran Ravencrest's Military, Criminal, and Civil Inquries and trials.

The current guidelines are as follows:

Three members + Leader of Group for representation of plaintiff or defendant. Any more must wait in the perimeter, and try to not cause mayhem.

Everyone Joins the Raid. No exceptions.

    Keep OOC in /raid only.

All guild leaders are responsible for keeping their people on their leash.

Keep incharacter chatter to minimal during Military Inquiry and Civic Trial. There will be short breaks inbetween for both. Emotes, sure. But don't go overboard. Whispers we have no control over.

The Guards will be on hand to ensure any who violate the guidelines in character will be forcefully removed frm the court, and held in contempt for a fine and minor jailtime.

All weapons and tools of war are to be turned in. And any casting will be immediately interrupted by a guard. Violently. Marshals and Magistrates are of the exception.

Please recall that all current magistrates utilize the Inquisitorial Judicial System. One Judge, Think daytime judge shows in terms of proceedings.

All court sessions planed will be posted 48 hours prior to the date for the public. All parties involved may be informed earlier.

EDIT: The Laws for the City are Stormwind are still on the Earthen Ring Wikia. We most likely will be gathering afterwards to update these. Heavily.

I lol'd irl at this and can only imagine the exchange of emotes that would be akin to shouting for a brick wall to move. The Guards could only wish for non-consentual same-faction PvP – but then they would need epic gear or get farmed like so much NPC.

As a note, using the Storyline feature to collect the various journals, letters, stories and decrees for this plot line. Link is here:

I updated the Storyline front page with this forum post.

Is this a one shot thing? Because the idea of a monthly trial type thing that various characters could present grievances too, well it'd be quite interesting.

Mostly for court sessions people in game request. A good deal of them may involve being the 'home stretch' for plots, or the beginnings. It remains to be seen. All future trials and inquiries will most definitely be posted here.

It'd be ideal if we had someone that could roleplay the King (Like a GM) for a weekly petition day or something. From how I understand this genre of setting, it's the King that usually handles that kind of thing.

As I recall, Ethne Woodward (apologies if I got your name wrong) held an event just like that this week. She heard petitions in the Stormwind Keep. Sounds like the kind of thing that would make a good recurring event.

Indeed. I'd think it a little too God Modey, personally...to impersonate the King of Stormwind. However, a small group of nobles or judiciaries would work.

The trials are through player requests only, and no one is impersonating the king. If there are concerns, then the magistrates available are very approachable people who would never force anyone into a situation against their will.

Those that do not wish to accept consequence should not be taking risky actions. Consequence is a major part of roleplay, but it is driven by players, not NPCs, so I hope this helps relieve some discomfort :)

^^ Trials, as we've learned the hard way, are always oocly requested by interested parties, and offered as an "IC service" for more RP. If the scenario is especially touchy or political, even the final result can be pre-decided, though that takes some of the fun out of it.
