((The Role Play Guild Masters))

Can I forge us into a blaster rifle? PEW PEW!

On a more serious note, I agree with you completely, Alysdair.

IC meetings have proved they don't work. OOC meetings, on the other hand, work better. I myself, simply know, like, and trust most people better OOCly than ICly.

It's also easier to be logical when I'm thinking from the role of the ever-direct wanderings of the 15 year-old mind in comparison, to, say....A super cheerful and affectionate Gnomish Guard Captain.

I think the meetings were always intended to be OOC. So everyone can discuss how our guilds can RP together.

Some people have been asking about goals and a clear direction for the meetings. How about something like a questionnaire of sorts? For example:

    1. Does your guild provide a product or service that other guilds might be interested in ICly?

    2. Does your guild provide a function (like the Guard) that depends on interaction with other players? If so, how would you like other players to interact with you? [ex. The SWG are basically cops and they can establish who wants to be a robber OOCly so there's not a conflict later when the guard arrests a rogue for pick-pocketing. They can also plan large crime ring raids, etc.]

    3. Is your guild embarking on a large plot or project that we can help you with our participate in?

    4. Does your guild have a theme that could involve non guild members on a regular basis? [ex. The Bar Flies Guild might want people to some RP a friendly tavern with well-known patrons similar to cheers. Any player might walk into the bar and see the guild tag and then assume familiarity with that character as part of the guild cannon.]

    5. Does your guild have a plot that they don't want participation in? [Perhaps a guild has plotted out a story line that they want to play out publicly, but they don't want other people's well-meaning contributions to steer it in another direction.]

    6. Would your guild like feedback or suggestions on anything? [ER is full of creative people and a little RP brainstorming can spark new ideas on the spot.]

These are off the top of my head, and of course more should be added, but something like this as an agenda might help all the guilds be heard, because every guild is bound to answer yes to at least one of these questions. The point should be to network together and use each guild's strength to play off of each other and build a very interconnected RP community. I think everyone could come away with something useful at the end of the meetings.

What are other questions or topics to include?

Hello everyone. As a relatively new player and a GM for all of a month, I have to say I find this idea interesting. I agreed, by whisper, to attend this meeting because while my tiny little guild has no formal guild rp, we have a roster full of people who love to rp individually. Im hoping that I can get some good information to share with my members, as well as to make some new friends oocly. Is that what this really is? A networking event? A cocktail party? *giggles*

First off, I salute you all. Long live Earthen Ring.

Second, I'm loving how the idea is blossoming as more and more input is fed into it. I like Johnson's questionnaire, and the idea of it being a (sort of) cocktail party. It's what it is! A chance for all of us to mingle and expand and make the RP more cohesive (props to the Criers for their huge efforts in that regard).

Details remain to be ironed out, whether it will be a chat channel in game, or raid, etc. We could very well meet physically in game and handle interactions as OOC. Y'know. Be a bit more ourselves. That might help stave off distractions that could be had if we keep our pixelated selves all scattered about while attending said gathering. Now I'm not saying it's a good idea... I'm just shooting the breeze and seeing what comes out.

Looking forward to this collective effort, and if previous endeavours such as this have marooned in the past for this or another reason, I keep hope this one will really take off.

My plan was always for an OOC - meet up in a raid chat. We would present our characters to a meetup spot (somewhere away from trolls) and discuss accordingly

^ what Kino said. I dont own a guild on the horde side so really starting this horde side is up to the GMs on that side. Thought they could interact with what we already have setup :)

This is a public notice of what is to come. 3V will be entering a state of hibernation for the time being due to lack of interest in this genre of RP and complete exhaustion of the GM. As I will not be leading an RP guild I do not feel qualified to coordinate the meetings of the blue GMs. I would encourage you all to continue meeting: What was started was a good thing and shouldn't die out just because a few faces are vanishing.

If you need any information on others who had originally agreed I have those files on my computer and am willing to e-mail them or send you the contents as you may desire.

    Good luck and happy hunting.
