So one race that I have always enjoyed playing and reading up on has been the Draenei. There are a tun of interesting theories and bits of information on them that I have found dotting the internet.
One of the bigger ones was that the Draenei before the first contact with the Naaru were actually magic based creatures that created their paradise via arcane energy. Only after the first visit with the Naaru do they become blessed with the knowledge of the light, extend their abilities, and attract the attention of the burning legion.

I postulate that Light and Shadow are the same thing mirrored. Thus if you are shadow you can move to the light and vice versa. I know that is an odd way to start the conversation but .. See I think Naruu and their counterpoints on the shadowy side of things (Void beasts?.. the resultant situation when a naruu is drained), dictates that they are elementals in nature. The man behind the curtain (woman?) is not something manipulating the naruu nor the legion as it were, but the normal balancing that must take place to keep existance going.
If either side wins , we all lose.
