Nylian stepped to the house.  He hesitated, looking around before finally knocking at the door.  He hadn’t realized

Liliania stood in front of her small alchemy table, creating potions.  Her cat Sami suddenly looked at the door but she did not notice this.

Nylian waited for a moment before knocking again, a bit harder, "Sunsong."

She looked up, her eyebrows knotting together; she wiped her hands with a cloth and opened the door. She blinked at Nylian, "Hello... how did you know where I lived?"

His expression wouldn’t allow it, but he was glad that no harm had come to her.  He held to an air of seriousness, trying to hide the underlying depression hanging on him, "Some things are best left unknown, Sunsong... Do you have a moment?"

She pressed her lips together at his obvious depression see saw right through to, and raised her eyebrows. She stepped away from the door and gestured for him to come in, "What's wrong?"

Nylian stood outside for a moment.  He scanned one more time before entering with caution. He was silent for a time before he spoke, on everything.  He told Liliania of what happened with Seralah and to her.  He recited memory in pain, but told from start to finish all there was to tell.

Liliania listened to the truth, with a frown.  He finished his tale and she moved to hug him, "I'm sorry."

He stood there for a moment before taking her arms from around him, "I should have seen this coming, but I was blind." He dropped his head, "I let this happen, there's nothing more left for me now. Except to finish this..."

Liliania shook her head, "If I recall correctly Sera was the fortune teller, not you. How exactly do you see in the future? Have a nice shiny crystal ball? And what exactly do you mean there's "nothing more left for me now"? What about your family, your friends?"

Nylian shook his head.  He knew she’s wouldn’t understand.  He threw away that life and everyone in it.   "I have none and the illusion of no one. It is how it should have stayed, then maybe she would not have come to harm. I am hunted. I will never stop being hunted. Not until I come to oblivion, or send my hunter to it first."

"Well that's a bunch of bull!" she gave a small huff, "I know for a fact you have a brother and a sister in law, who is your family whether you like it or not! And since when was I no longer friend status? The very fact that you are here talking to me, proves that I'm a friend!" She pokes him, "This isn't like you, what happened to 'I am the hunter, not the prey' attitude? You never cared about what was after you before."

He is taken aback by her boldness for a moment. He took her hand that she poked him with and gently moved to open it. He took a pendant from about his neck and lowered it into her hand. "Matron Sunsong, things change and I don't want to bury anyone else. She called me Raven. Ravens only know how to fly alone. I didn't deserve her. I don't deserve what's left of her. I am not held to gods or religion, but someone needed to know her story. So that she could have last rites. She deserves that much."

Lil looked at the black clouded soul stone pendant in her hand then looks back up at him, "Yes, things change, things are always in motion. Yes, our lovers help shape who we are- but Nylian you are no raven. You were once, you were her raven, but that man is not standing before me." She took the pendant and put it back around his neck, "I'll perform last rights for her, I'll do it with what I have of her, and you should keep this. When you are no longer depressed, and suicidal, you might actually want a small token of her. "

He looked down at the pendant and it almost seemed to drag him down. He looked at Liliania, "Thank you, Sunsong." He walked over to the door, putting his hand on the knob.

"Crying helps you know.  And since when have you started calling me by my surname? Light! Would you make up your mind "silversage" "sunlight" "sunsong"?  Pretty soon you're going to start calling me "Betsie" or something!"

Nylian failed to even crack a smile towards her. "I think it’s best if we stick to who we are Matron Sunsong. You do not warrant a connection to me. You do not want to."

Lil rolled her eyes a little, "Whether I warrant one or not its there. When's the last time you eaten?"

"Your concern is appreciated, Matron Sunsong, but--"

Makes an annoyed sound, "You're not answering the question which means not recently." She grabbed his arms and dragged him to her table pushing him in a chair.

    "Come on, Mr. Grumpypants"

Nylian fell into the chair with a clamor. He moved to get back up, "Sunsong... This is not the time."

Lil pushed him back into the chair, "You're right it's not so sit down and shut up."

Nylian grabbed her arms as if to shock her into realization, "Enough! ...enough." He dropped his hold on her, "You cannot be tied to me, Sunsong... Not you. Not anyone. No one is safe around me. They took Seralah from her lab within Silvermoon. You are far less protected here." He drops his head and attempts to rise again, "Just let me go, Matron. For your sake as well as mine."

“No." She crosses her arms and glared at him.

"Why are you so obstinate about this? This is your life on the line. Your kin, all that you've worked to gain. The love of your life. All of that, you put them all at risk by being tied to me. Let it go and be happy."  His tone hung mute as he spoke to her.

"What kin? I have no kin! Nor do I have a "love of my life" thank you very much. What I do have is friends, and I stand by them, even when they try to push me away in some depressed stupidity! Now sit back down, so you can eat something!"

"Why can't you just understand I don't want to lose you too?" He looked at her for a moment before turning his head towards the door.

She stepped between him and the door. "If you don't want to lose me too then stop this nonsense. This may seem hard to believe Nylian but I'm a big girl, I know how to take care of myself. I don't actually require body guard services of a depressed suicidal grumpypants. I'm young but I've already survived many things, and should something come and dab me in the dark, I highly doubt it will be because of my connection to you. More likely it will be because of something stupid I did, an enemy I created all on my own, or something related to this town. And don't think I'm letting you out of here yet Mister. You're eating something. Period."

Nylian looked her in the eye with a restrained expression.  The words stung at him to hear them twice.  She spoke those words to him the last time.  He grimaced, "I heard much the same from her... I know you can care for yourself, but that doesn't mean I should add to your troubles, Sunsong. These people want me dead. Seralah if nothing else was testament to their message. I won't let you be a third."

"You honestly think by walking out that door and never seeing me again is going to keep me safe? I'm already connected to you Nylian. Proof of that is the fact that you are here, and the signet you told me to carry around." She lifted her chin stubbornly, "What troubles you added has been added a long time ago, and you can't change that Mr. Grumpypants."

"Why do you care so much? Even your paladin friend that hunted me down cannot understand." He looked at her in clear misunderstanding.

"Paladin friend?" She blinked, and tilts her head, "What paladin friend?"

    "Ravenwood or something..."

She just blinked, "Casey?" She sighed, "Of course she would." She rubbed the bridge of her nose for a moment, "I apologize for that, I actually asked her not to get involved, but she does what she does."

"No… It’s fine. She helped in her own way. Whatever connect we shared, your friend helped severe it."

She snorted, "You don't actually believe that do you? No you're an intelligent person, you couldn't believe that. You must be saying it in hopes I'll believe it. That's an insult to -my- intelligence you know."

"That is the goal isn't it. If I hurt you, it shows you have no value to me. Neither my hunter nor his minions will come for you. You'll be safe... from me."

"So that's why you are here? To hurt me? Tell me, what's stopping you from doing it then? So far all you have done is tell me why you are hurting so much, and tried to leave."

"No..." He took his eyes off her, "I came to seek the aid of a priestess for a burial. I meant for nothing beyond that."

Her eyes dropped, her tension drained out of her.  She took a deep breath then put a hand on his shoulder, "Crying does help."

"I have no more left to shed, Priestess."

She sighed; she glancing at him, then at the door.  Looking as if she's judging something, she walked over to her pantry and pulled out a bowl of fruit and a loaf of bread. She puts both on the table then resumed her position between him and the door. "Why are you always so damn stubborn?"

"I supposed it is just one of my numerous flaws, Sunsong."

"That's true, one of your many, many, many flaws." Her lips quirked slightly, but she turned back serious, "Eat something; I won’t let you leave until you do."

He turned back to the table, "If I must." He sat and took up a piece of fruit and began to eat.

She shook her head slightly, and then sat at the table herself. "What do you plan to do next?"

"That is best left unknown to you."

"That's best left unknown to you." She copied with a horrible impression of Nylian.  "You've always been secretive, but this is almost comical."

He finished chewing, "Take it as you will. But this is not something for you to know, Priestess Sunsong."

Leaned back in her chair "Let’s see, knowing you, you probably plan on tracking down that one guy for a revenge, you're always big on revenge after all. Then you'll probably go to some bar in a rough part of a city, get completely and utterly drunk, and then because of the state you are in, continue to feel so sorry for yourself."

He finishes the last bite of the fruit before standing, "I'll do what I must. It's all I have ever been able to do."

"Fine," she took another deep breath, "Just come back and see me sometime rogue"

He turned towards the door and walked for it. "If I survive, I may." He hushes before opening the door and closing it behind him.

She watched him go, and then rubbed her eyes.
